The 2007 Simply Southern Scrapbook Convention and Paper ARTist Expo will be held at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama.  The host hotel will be the new Embassy Suites that opened in November 2006 and is connected via an interior walkway to the South Hall reception area of the Von Braun Center.  This wonderful location is approximately 1 mile from Interstate bypass 565. 

 

 

NOTE:  The cut off date for reservations with Holiday Inn, Downtown is 9/21/07.  After that date, they cannot guarantee price or availability.

Embassy Suites

Reservations for the convention are made by contacting Embassy Suites reservations at 1-800-EMBASSY, or the hotel directly at 256-539-7373.  Please ask for a room within the Simply Southern Scrapbooking room block.  The group rate within the room block is $119.00 per night for up to 3 occupants per room plus applicable sales and hotel taxes.  You may also book a reservation within the room block online at www.embassysuites.com.  The group/convention code is "sss".  All rooms are suites and feature a separate bedroom and living area.  The group rate includes a cooked to order breakfast each morning and a nightly manager's reception each evening.  Check in time is 3:00 pm and check out is 12:00 noon.  Cancellations must be made more than 72 hours prior to arrival to avoid charges. 

Driving Directions (Embassy Suites):
From North or South on I-65 take exit 340, which is I-565 toward Huntsville.  After approximately 20 miles, take exit 19-C Downtown, Washington St., Jefferson St. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn right onto Jefferson St.  At first stop light, turn right onto Monroe St. Follow Monroe St. past the Convention Center you will see the Embassy Suites hotel on your right.  Parking at the hotel is available at the rate of $4.00 per day and you can walk to the Von Braun Center from the second floor of the hotel via an interior walkway.  The address is Embassy Suites Hotel, 800 Monroe Street, Huntsville, Alabama 35801; telephone number 256-539-7373.

Holiday Inn Downtown-Huntsville

In addition, we have secured an additional room block with the Holiday Inn, Downtown Huntsville at the rate of $89.00 plus tax, per night for up to 4 occupants.  The Holiday Inn is located across the street from the Embassy Suites hotel and the Von Braun Center.  Reservations can be made for this hotel beginning at noon on August 17th within the Simply Southern room block by calling 256-533-1400.  The group code for reservations within this block is "SSS:.   Check in time is 3:00 pm and check out is 12:00 noon.  Cancellations must be made more than 48 hours prior to arrival date to avoid charges.
